I started reading science fiction many years ago beginning with authors like Isaac Asimov, Arthur C. Clark, and Ray Bradbury. I loved the universes they created as well as the interesting characters in them. Beginning in middle school I created my first stories and found the process enjoyable.

Life always seemed to get in the way and for a long time, I put writing away. Then I met some friends who involved me in role-playing games. I took the basic characters generated for me and wrote their backstories. I felt there should be something more to my characters than just stats like strength, dexterity, and intelligence. My characters should have a history, with dreams, and fears. A great friend encouraged me to write stories about what was happening between those role-playing sessions. We called it Reality B. It took on a life of its own and soon diverged from the role-playing universe. I always wanted to take some of those characters and create stories in my own universe.
